Rapunzel Twist

Sat in front of the mirror, age reduced to dull glass

The storm outside showed no sign it would pass

The stone grey walls of the tower pushing in

The light of a single candle flickering within

Rapunzel sat staring at the reflection of her face,

Whilst inside she contemplated leaving this place.

The crime that had sent her there to be broken,

The love that shall never be spoken.

No prince would ever share her bed

She yearned for the fairer sex instead.

But in her world her crime could not be forgot

So with a deft movement of hair she created the knot

Standing on the window sill of a world that did not care.

Repunzel jumped and let down her hair.
